Joanne M. (Goodwin) Carroll, aged 91, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 20th at Genesis House, Longmeadow. Joanne was born Sept. 14th, 1934 in Springfield to the late William J. Goodwin and Anna M. (Reynolds) Goodwin. While Joanne had many jobs, she found her calling as a switchboard operator for Western New England College until her retirement 10 years later. An original QVC queen, Joanne also enjoyed her Wednesday night bingo games and Friday morning hair appointments. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Robert Carroll Sr., who passed in 2014, and her dear brother, James Reynolds “Rennie” Goodwin. She is survived by her son Robert Carroll Jr. and his wife Allison of Agawam and her three daughters Elizabeth Carroll and husband William Fontaine of South Hadley, Mary L. Conchieri and her husband Michael of Feeding Hills, and Cynthia Carroll Robitaille of Feeding Hills, as well as her five beloved grandchildren Anne, Sean, Patrick, Briana, and Shannon. The family would like to thank Legacy Life Care Spectrum Hospice, particularly Beverly, her nurse, for her kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital. A funeral mass will be held on Thurs., Feb., 26th at 12 Noon in St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St. East Longmeadow followed by burial in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
