Born August 31, 1937, in Berrien County to the late William Henry Roland and Zora Bell Hesters Roland, she grew up on the family farm in the West Berrien Community; and she was a 1955 graduate of Berrien County High School. She was a homemaker and operated a children’s nursery in her home for twenty-five years. She loved and cared for many children as her own; and she was affectionately known as “Ms. Louise”, “Mama”, and “Two Mama”.
Mrs. Royal never met a stranger, always smiling, loved to talk and laugh. She was always her true self no matter where she was; and she always found good in everyone. She enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work, cooking, decorating, cleaning, and making her house a home. She loved her family “unconditionally” and cherished every visit from her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy.
Mrs. Royal had many lifelong friends and neighbors that were dear to her. She was a woman of strong faith and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We know she is at her eternal home now singing her little song, “Every day with Jesus is better than the day before”.
Mrs. Royal is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brad Royal of Moultrie and William and April Royal of Saint Simon’s Island; two daughters and one son-in-law, Gina and Tim Robinson of Lenox and Judy Boling of Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Leo, Sophia and Charles Royal of Saint Simon’s Island, Meagan Mayne and her husband Jacob of Cordele, Matthew Royal of Westminster, South Carolina, Michael Royal of Valdosta, Julie Ann Alexander of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jake Robinson and his wife Leah of Lenox; ; five great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Gail Roland of Adel and Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Louise Royal of Iron City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Royal was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Royal, whom she shared sixty-six years with until his death in 2022; one brother, W. H. Roland, Jr. and his wife, Dottie; one sister, Coretha “Sally” Bennett and her husband, Gary; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Royal; a brother-in-law, Bobby Royal; and her son-in-law, Edward Boling.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Southwell Health and Rehab in Adel and Hospice of Tift Area for their excellent care of Mrs. Royal.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
