John C. Keough, 84, passed away in his sleep, on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Rockingham County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Brentwood, NH. He was the loving husband of Carole J. (Dupuis) Keough with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in Beverly and raised in Salem, MA, he was the son of the late Alexander P. and Thelma E. (Hersey) Keough. He and Carole married at a young age prior to his serving stateside with the Army during the early Vietnam War years. John returned to the North Shore and worked for the Cressy Dockham Co. in Salem and retired from Super Valu Wetterau in Andover with over forty years with the companies.
John was devoted to his family and enjoyed genealogy, helping his neighbors within his community, but most of all, he had a passion for Salem, Massachusetts, where he spent most of his life.
He is survived by his wife Carole, his son, David A. Keough and wife Holly of S Burlington, VT, and daughters, Diane C. Savary of Peabody, Darlene J. Stobbe and husband Donald of Hampton Falls, NH, Debra A. Keough-Johnson and husband Rick of Wells, ME and his brother Richard Keough and wife Gayle of Hampton, NH.
He also leaves 3 grandchildren, Brittany DiCarlo and husband Gianni of Norfolk, MA, Charlene Savary of Peabody and Hunter Stobbe of Hampton Falls, NH.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visiting hour on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 10:00 AM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. (Route 114 / 1-A) Salem, MA to be followed by his funeral service in the funeral Home at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 226 North St., Salem, MA.
