Obituary

Gary C. Gendron
July 30, 1954 – February 15, 2026
Gary C. Gendron, 71, a lifelong resident of Manchester, NH, passed away on February 15, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 30, 1954, he was the son of the late Henry and Cecile Gendron.
Gary was a man of immense strength and character; a proud Union Iron Worker by trade. His dedication to his community was most visible at the rink. A fixture in the local hockey scene, Gary served for years as an Off-Ice Official for the AHL Manchester Monarchs. He also shared his passion for the game as a hockey referee and coach, mentoring and shaping the lives of many youth hockey players over the years.
He lived life at full volume. An enthusiast of motorcycles and hot rods, Gary found his true freedom on the open road. He was a die-hard fan of all Boston sports, but he was happiest when the Rock n’ Roll was loud and he was sitting on his back deck—enjoying the outdoors with a cold beer in hand as he watched his grandkids swim. He was a man who worked hard, played hard, and stayed true to his roots.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Susan M. Gendron (Nassoura). He was the devoted father of his son, Jesse Gendron and his wife Mallory, and his daughter, Cole Pimentel (Gendron) and her husband Brandon. "Grampa" will be deeply missed by his four beautiful grandchildren: Hattie (9), Nora (6), Isaac (2), and Charlotte (1). He also leaves behind his sister, Cyndy Ullrich and her husband Neil, and his brother Roland Gendron’s wife Cheryl. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cecile, his older brother, Roger Gendron, and his stepfather Charles Scheys. His older brother Roland Gendron passed less than 24 hours later.
Services will be held this Wednesday, February 18th, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the amazing nurses and caregivers at the Community Hospice House for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Gary’s final journey. Their kindness provided comfort not only to Gary but to his entire family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gary’s name to the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH at the following link: https://hhhc.org/make-a-gift/donation/
