Juanita Tanner Griffin, 99, of Americus, formally of Ocilla, died Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Magnolia Manor Methodist Nursing Center in Americus, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Paulk Funeral Home chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Ms. Griffin was born February 9, 1927, in Nicholls, Georgia, to the late George and Nora Thigpen Tanner. She was a 1945 graduate of Nicholls High School where she played on the basketball team. Ms. Griffin was a homemaker and enjoyed helping her husband on the farm. She loved cooking, crocheting, fishing, working in her yards but most of all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ms. Griffin was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia.
She is survived by her children: Bobby Griffin & Sharon of Elko and Brenda Griffin Pusey & Ronnie of Leesburg; grandchildren: Chad Griffin & Cristi of Leesburg, David Griffin & Amanda Serna of Leesburg, Diana Phillips & Eric of Perry and Stuart Griffin of Macon; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Eugene Griffin "Jack"; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
