Theresa M. Alessi, 82
Dateline: Norton, MA Theresa M. Alessi, age 82, a resident of the Residence at Great Woods in Norton, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Born in Boston, MA on February 15, 1944, she was a loving daughter of the late Philip A., Sr. and Josephine A. (Corey) Alessi. Theresa grew up in Boston and was a graduate of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross High School. She had made her home in Norton and Mansfield for many years and prior to retiring had worked as an Educational Assistant at the J.C. Solmonese Elementary School in Norton for twenty-five years. Theresa was also a well-known and familiar face, working as a real estate agent in the Mansfield area. A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Theresa was always happiest when spending time with her adoring family and close friends. She always maintained a special place in her heart for animals, especially her late dog “Bosco”, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, times spent at the beach, exploring new restaurants and will always be remembered for her amazing cooking skills. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Denise Petrella and her husband Michael of Mansfield and Andrea Van Minden of Mansfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Nicholas Petrella and his wife Jaimie Fitzgerald of Ithaca, New York and Angela Petrella and er boyfriend Christian Mills of Quincy. She was the dear sister of the late Philip A. Alessi, Jr. Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, February 26th at 11:30 A.M. in saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will take place privately, at a later date, at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday morning February 26th, prior to the Funeral mass from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, Theresa’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Grand Central Station, P.O.
