
HIRAM- Andrew John Cote, age 16, passed away suddenly on February 11th 2026 at his home.
He was born in Portland, Maine on July 21st 2009. Andrew was cherished beyond measure by his devoted parents, Heather and Corey Cote.
Andrew grew up in the Sacopee Valley school district and was loved by his teachers, and friends. Andrew was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a deep love for music and games, and he found genuine happiness in sharing those interests with family and friends. He was a young man with big dreams, a kind heart, and a spirit full of hope.
He knew from a young age that he wanted to serve in the military and fight for his country. That was his dream.
He had an especially tender place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews, who lovingly knew him as “Uncle Frew.” Or “Uncle Shrew”
Andrew’s gentle nature, caring soul, and unforgettable smile left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He is survived by, his parents, Corey and Heather Cote of Hiram his brothers and sisters, Nicole Cote of Biddeford, Kyle Cote of Connecticut, Hunter Cheney of Sanford, Mason Cheney and his wife Samantha Cheney of Parsonsfield. Cameron Cheney of Sanford, Jen York of Bath, and his four other blood siblings.
His nieces and nephews, Kaden Cheney, Brayden Cote, Khalesssi Cheney, and Amaya Cheney.
Andrew will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Andrew’s life on Friday, February 20th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St. in Cornish. During this time of sorrow, the family asks that you keep them in your thoughts, prayers, and hearts as they navigate this unimaginable sudden loss.
