Richard J. Huggins II, 43, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home on Friday, February 13, 2026 with his family by his side. He was the son of Richard J. Huggins, Sr. and Valerie J. (Dal Pos) Huggins of Westport.
Richard was born in Boston and lived in Bristol, RI for many years before relocating to Westport. He grew up in Barrington, RI where he graduated from St. Andrew's School. He went on to college attaining two degrees, first a Communications with a Bachelor of Arts. He then went on to attain his BSRN in Nursing graduating with honors. A writer at heart, he had a book in the works and had completed thirty six chapters.
Survivors along with his parents include his brother: Jon Ian Huggins of Westport; his aunt and uncle: Donna and William Chambers of Amelia Island, FL; and his cousin: Julie Chambers of New York, NY.
A memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will take place at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport and will be announced at a later date.
