James T. Kilbride, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 11, 2026. He was 87. James was the beloved husband of the late Donata "Dona" F. (Rice) Kilbride. Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Cecelia G. (Keady) Kilbride.
Raised and educated in Woburn, James was a 1955 graduate of Woburn High School. He was an outstanding student athlete and was the Captain of the Woburn High School Hockey Team. Following high school, James enlisted into the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era where he proudly and honorably served attaining the rank of Lance Corporal before his discharge in January of 1960. Soon after his return to civilian life, James married his beloved wife Dona and together they started their family bringing four children into the world. James worked for over 60 years as a talented and trusted meat cutter, spending the majority of his working career at Lucci's Market in Wilmington. Throughout his life he was an avid sports enthusiast. He participated in and played in men's hockey leagues for several years and was a proud fan of the New York Yankees and Montreal Canadiens. James will fondly be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of country and sports, but most importantly his love and devotion to his family. He will be greatly missed.
James is survived by his children; Ellen Nilsen and her husband Dale of Wilmington, James T. Kilbride, Jr. and his wife Susan of Peabody, Donald J. Kilbride and his wife Sue of Wellesley, Susan LaCambria and her husband John of Wilmington. He was the loving grandfather of Cody and Emily Nilsen, Oliva, Abby and Chris Kilbride, Duncan, Finn, and Sawyer Kilbride, Ashley and Katelyn LaCambria. Cherished brother of Denis Kilbride of Woburn, the late Peggy Cullen, Kay Banks, Donald, Richard and Edward Kilbride.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday, February 18th, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a prayer service beginning at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with Military Honors and burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in James' memory to Woburn Dollars for Scholars, P O Box 202,
