Obituary

Joseph S. Pimental, age 87, of Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, holding the hand of his beloved wife Barbara of nearly 65 years.

Joe began his life of service as a Military Police Officer in the US Army and then a police officer for the City of Cambridge. He then became a Cambridge firefighter proudly retiring after 27 years. Joe dedicated his career to protecting his community with courage, integrity, and an unwavering sense of duty.

A tireless worker and provider, Joe was never afraid of hard work and seemed to have done just about any part-time job to provide for his family. From being a bus driver, limousine driver, funeral home attendant, loss prevention associate, parking garage attendant and even working for his adored son in-law, he approached every role with humility, responsibility, and his trademark work ethic.

Above all, Joe was devoted to his family. He was the beloved husband of his wife, Barbara, the proud father of three children, Joe Jr. (wife Carol), Michael (wife Linda), and Ann (husband Karl). He was a cherished grandfather and adored his grandchildren, his “main man” Max and the apples of his eye, Chloe and Charlotte. He also held special love for his grandchildren Tammy, Stephany, Hannah and Sarah, always keeping them close in his heart despite the distance. Joe is also survived by his brother, John, to whom the family extends their deepest gratitude for his love and care.

Known for his contagious smile, quick wit, and warm sense of humor, Joe will be remembered for the love he shared and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. Joe leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet heroism, not only in his years as a first responder, but in the life he built through hard work and unwavering devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Please join the family for a memorial service on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 9 – 11am at Conley Funeral Home in Brockton. His Funeral Mass will follow at St. Ann’s Church in West Bridgewater at 11:30am.
