Maria Ortiz, born in Chihuahua, Mexico, passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the age of 67. With faith and hope in the Resurrection, we commend her soul to God’s infinite mercy. Maria is now reunited with her beloved parents in eternal rest.

She was a loving and devoted mother to Patricia, Carlos, and Elizabeth (Quincy); a cherished sister to Josie; and an adoring grandmother of five, whose lives were deeply blessed by her love, strength, and gentle spirit. Maria’s warmth, devotion to family, and quiet faith will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to gather in prayer and remembrance during visitation on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home, 4256 S. Mozart. Additional parking will be available at Five Holy Martyrs, 4327 S. Richmond.

Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside.

María Ortiz, nacida en Chihuahua, México, partió en paz a los brazos amorosos del Señor el domingo 8 de febrero de 2026, a la edad de 67 años. Con fe y esperanza en la Resurrección, encomendamos su alma a la infinita misericordia de Dios. María se reúne ahora en el descanso eterno con sus queridos padres.

Fue una madre amorosa y dedicada de Patricia, Carlos y Elizabeth (Quincy); una hermana muy querida de Josie; y una abuela adorada de cinco nietos, cuyas vidas fueron profundamente bendecidas por su amor, fortaleza y espíritu bondadoso. María será recordada siempre por su calidez, su devoción a la familia y su fe serena.

Familiares y amigos están cordialmente invitados a reunirse en oración y recuerdo durante la velación, que se llevará a cabo el lunes 23 de febrero de 2026, de 3:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en la Funeraria Ocwieja-Robles, ubicada en 4256 S. Mozart. Habrá estacionamiento adicional disponible en Five Holy Martyrs, 4327 S. Richmond.

El sepelio se realizará el martes 24 de febrero de 2026 en el Cementerio Mount Carmel, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside.
