Carolyn Lenore Crandall (Fish), 78, of Ledyard, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2026,
Carolyn was born March 3, 1947 and raised in Mystic CT. Later meeting her Husband Franklin Crandall. She built a life centered on family, kindness, and strength. She attended Stonington High School and went on to work as a hairdresser at Shear Artistry in Groton, CT. Alongside her work there, Carolyn proudly helped create and nurture a successful family run business; a reflection of her dedication, work ethic, and love for those closest to her.
In her devoted marriage with her husband, Franklin Crandall, together they built a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support. Carolyn’s greatest achievement and deepest pride was her family. She was the quiet matriarch — always smiling, always steady, and always there when someone needed her. Her wonderful sense of humor and gentle spirit made her beloved by all who met her.
Carolyn found joy in life’s simple pleasures: crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, family vacations, and time spent gathered with those she loved most. Her presence brought comfort, warmth, and a feeling of home wherever she was.
She is survived by her loving husband, Franklin Crandall of Ledyard, CT; her children, Troy & Sarah Crandall, Amanda & Eric Frye, and Alyssa Crandall & Josh Armstrong; and her cherished grandchildren, Chloe, Lyana Crandall, & Zachary Williams, Kyler & Taelynn Frye, and Lacey Armstrong. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Gerrish (Fish), her husband Larry Gerrish of Groton, CT, and their step sibling’s Natalie Donath and Norma Donath Both of Mystic, CT, and Timothy Donath of Florida.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Jeannette Carolyn Godfrey and father, Chester Ashbey Fish.
Carolyn’s legacy is one of love, quiet strength, and devotion to family — a life beautifully lived and deeply cherished. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered
