Tien Manh Hoang, 61, of Worcester died Friday, February 6th in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife 39 years, Tuyet Thi Pham; his daughter, Yen Hoang and her husband, Lucas Pham of Millbury; his son, Vu Hoang and his wife, Hong Huynh of Worcester; six brothers, Tuyen, Hieu, Tuan, Tung, Lap and Truong Hoang all of Vietnam; his sister, Thu Hoang of Vietnam; five grandchildren, Daniel Hoang, Austin, Kimberly, Elisha, and Catherine Pham; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Thu Duc, Vietnam and immigrated to the United States in 2010, embracing his new life with dedication, faith, and a strong work ethic. He was a devout and faithful member of Our Lady of Vilna Church, where his presence was a constant and meaningful part of the parish community. Over the years, Tien generously shared his time and talents as a lector and choir member, and he was always willing to help with church fundraisers and activities.
Tien was known for his reliability and commitment, he never missed a day of work and took great pride in fulfilling his responsibilities. Outside of work and church, he enjoyed playing volleyball on the weekends and spending time with friends and family, valuing companionship and simple moments of connection.
Tien will be remembered for his faith, dedication, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. He leaves behind many who were touched by his kindness, loyalty, and steady presence.
His funeral is Saturday, February 14th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 153 Sterling Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. Calling hours are Friday, February 13th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
