Obituary

Jessica (Lamb) Foster, aged 73, of Ledyard, died on January 31, 2026. Jessica was the wife of Roland
Foster.
Jessica was born in New London, CT, on July 6, 1952, to Robert Lamb and Joyce (Hopkins) Lamb. She
was raised in East Lyme and graduated from East Lyme High School in 1971, where she was active in
both softball and field hockey.
After graduating, she spent some time at Eastern Connecticut State University before entering the
workforce. She first dedicated herself to helping others at the Seaside Regional Center in Waterford, then launched her career at SNET, where she became a telephone operator and remained until 1990.
Jessica married Roland on November 6, 1982, at Niantic Community Church. Together, they enjoyed
walking at Bluff Point, Haley Farm, and Lantern Hill, tending to their garden, and spending time with their beloved dog, Sandy. They also enjoyed traveling and took trips to Florida, England, and Canada.
Jessica is survived by her twin sister, Jennifer Sullivan of Massachusetts, and her brother, Peter Lamb, and his wife, Susan Lamb, of New Hampshire and Florida. She leaves behind three children: Rachel Barnes of Ledyard, Daniel Foster of Port St. John, Florida, and Jean Foster of Ledyard. She will be remembered and dearly missed by her adoring grandchildren, who lovingly called her Minna - Nicholas Foster, Alexis Buck, Jocelyn Barnes, Zachary Foster, Amina and Aisha Gonzales, Carlos, Ashlyn, and Joshua Paucar, along with her many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cherished neighborhood friends.
Jessica enjoyed her trips to England and had a lifelong admiration for its culture. She found joy in writing to her pen pals, photography, discussing politics, spending time with her grandchildren, and chatting with her many neighborhood friends which were connections that meant so much to her. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she embraced the season with her whole heart, baking cookies and sending cards and thoughtful gifts to remind loved ones they were remembered and cared for. She loved having her picture taken, and her bright smile lives on in the many family photos that capture her warmth. Above all, she will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, her love of people and connection, and the way she made others feel seen and cared for. The image of her standing by her front door, waving goodbye to guests, will be cherished by all, and her memory will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be planned at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when finalized.
