Obituary

Danvers
Alice (Fournier) Paquette, 104, of Danvers, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Hathorne Hill Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center; surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Lucien J. Paquette, with whom she shared 51 Years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem (the first birth in Salem in 1922) she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (LeBel) Fournier. She left school, at an early age, to help support her family by working for CBS Hytron and later for Sylvania. She left Sylvania to work for BOMAC, until her early retirement. Following her retirement she began her career in sales and fashion trends for Filene’s and Macy’s in Peabody. For fun and to keep up with theater, she volunteered at the North Shore Music Theater for eleven years.
Alice married the love of her life in 1945. They both loved square dancing and were members of the Riverside Squares of Danvers. She was devoted to her very large extended family and loved any excuse for a party. At her 104th birthday celebration she managed to commandeer the microphone and steal the show. She will be greatly missed.
Alices’s family would like to thank the staff of Hathorne Hill for the compassionate care extended to her in her later days.
The last survivor of her family, Alice is survived by her daughter Linda M. (Bilo) McCarthy and husband Stephen McCarthy of Nakomis, FL, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Ronald and Paul Paquette and her five sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to an hour of visitation from 10:00 to 10:50 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
