Obituary

Gertrude "Trudy" Citron of Chelsea passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 26th at the age of 89. Gertrude was the beloved wife of the late Harvey Citron and devoted mother to Tracey Citron, Cheryl Cunningham, Karen Rupa and her husband Alan and Roger Perrin and his wife Patricia. She was predeceased by her children the late Linda Cale and the late Theresa Perrin. Trudy was the dear sister of Beatrice Gardner, the late Abraham Edelstein, the late Morris Edelstein and the late Jeanette Gordon. Trudy was the adoring grandmother of Samantha, Roger Jr., Anthony, Christoper, Harold, Clifford, Kimberly, Robert, Jamal and Jason. The proud great grandmother of Bailey, Autumn, Mason, Maddox, Mia and Julianna and surrounded by the love of her devoted companion Mitzy. Trudy was loved by all. She was kind, generous, funny and wise. A cafeteria worker with the Chelsea Public Schools for many years, she was loved by all of the staff and students she saw every day, especially those who could not afford to pay for their lunch, as she strongly believed no student should have to go hungry. Trudy's children have fond memories of their family vacations, her love of casinos, music and animals. She loved her Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Bruins.
Services will be held at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Chelsea, on Sunday February 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Chevra Kadisha Cemetery, 232 Fuller Street, Everett. Donations in Trudy's name may be made to MSPCA Northeast Animal Shelter, Salem, MA.
