
John Arthur Haswell, 73, of Tifton passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Legacy Village in Tifton. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Haswell at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Haswell will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born December 17, 1952, in Allen Park, Michigan, Mr. Haswell was the son of the late John Wolstenholme Haswell and Evelyn Geraldine Couvillon Haswell. He was the owner and operator of Mastercraft Industrial Equipment in Tifton.
Mr. Haswell was a licensed pilot and loved flying. He loved working on the farm and managing his cows. He was a true outdoorsman, and his outdoor hobbies included moose and deer hunting in the fall of the year and fishing in Canada in the summer. North Georgia was a destination he enjoyed traveling to where he spent time in his cabin in Helen, Georgia. He enjoyed watching Westerns and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team. He had a sweet tooth and loved all sweets, especially ice cream and muffins.
Mr. Haswell is survived by his wife, Laurie Rice Haswell of Sylvester; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jackie and Kelli Haswell and Jarrett Haswell, all of Tifton and Jason and Cara Haswell of Doerun; two stepsons, Jason Rice of South Carolina and Carl Dean Rice; one stepdaughter, Brandi Klingenberg of Chula; one brother, Jamie Haswell of Tifton; one sister, Debbie Covington of Merritt Island, Florida; and several grandchildren.
