Maria S. Melendez (62) of Brockton passed away on January 22nd at Boston Medical Center, South.
She was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Narciso Melendez and the late Carmen Texidor. Maria was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and gardening, and found her greatest joy in nurturing her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her three children, Jose Cabrera, Raul Cabrera, and Luis Rivera, mother of the late Juan Cabrera, her daughter Carmen Martinez. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters, including Luis Texidor, Victor Texidor, Elsa Martinez, and Papo Martinez. Maria leaves behind ten beloved grandchildren: Avy, Juan, Andrea, Luie, Mya, Adrian, Izaiah, Lucas, Jamen, and Aylanna, and many great-grandchildren, including Logan, Chozen, Amelia, Jayce and Jaxon. She was the grandmother of the late Raul.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, on Sunday, February 1st, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. Cremation to follow.
