Obituary

Mary Marlo Savice Agbanyo, the eldest daughter of John and Alice Savice, was born on October 8, 1952, in Monrovia. She was educated at Tubman National Institute of Medical Arts in Monrovia, where she proudly graduated as a nurse(midwife)
Mary Marlo Savice Agbanyo departed this earthly life on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at her home in Fairfax, VA.
She received Christ at an early age and remained a faithful member of the Episcopal Church throughout her life. Her faith was a steady foundation that guided her character and actions.
Mary had a deep love for dancing and joyful gatherings. Whenever there was a Presidential Ball for the youth, she made it her mission to attend, embracing life with enthusiasm and elegance.
She was known for her grace, kindness, and love for her family and friends, and she often expressed gratitude for a long life filled with wonderful and varied experiences.
In 1980, Mary joined her husband in the United States, where they settled in Houston, Texas, raising their children there. After eight years in Texas, the family relocated to Worcester, Massachusetts, where she lived for 33 years.
While living in Worcester Mary, along with Dorothy Savice, Lucy Wiser, and Oretha Ketter founded The New Kru Town Association in 2002–2003 with a shared vision and a deep sense of community.
Mary along with the co-founders came together with the hope of uniting people from New Kru Town. After forming the Association, they reached out to others, inviting them to join in fellowship and purpose. Through unity and commitment, they selected their officials and held their installation, laying a strong foundation that continues to guide the community today.
Later, she spent a year in Charlotte, North Carolina, living with her daughter, Pauline Lacan. She then moved to Alexandria, VA to be with her daughter, Abla Thevenin, and later relocated to Fairfax VA.
Mary Marlo Savice Agbanyo leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and joyful living that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Visitation is Saturday, January 31st in All Saint's Episcopal Church, 10 Irvining Street, Worcester from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester.
