Madeleine J. (Boucher) Freitas, 80, of Westport, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Kent County Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Freitas, Jr.
Mrs. Freitas was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Roland A. and Irene M. (Roy) Boucher and had been a longtime resident of Westport. Prior to retirement she worked at the former New England Telephone and then as an administrative secretary at SSTAR, Fall River. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport where she also sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is survived by her son: Dr. William P. Freitas and his wife Becky; 3 grandchildren: Hunter, Ellsie and Griffin; 2 brothers: Paul Boucher and Robert Boucher; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Suzanne Akers.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, January 31, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Saturday from 8-9:30 A.M. prior to the Mass at the Potter Funeral Home.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
