Breda T. (Dow) Hagenston, 78, of Little Compton, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Bruce Shippee and the late Morris Hagenston.
Mrs. Hagenston was born in Springfield, IL, daughter of the late Howland S. Dow, Sr. and the late Mary (Cullinan) Dow and had been a longtime resident of Little Compton. She graduated from Old Rochester Regional High School, Mattapoisett. Prior to retirement, she was a school bus driver for First Student in Little Compton. She had a love for dogs, especially St. Bernards.
Survivors include her son: Bruce Shippee of Little Compton; her brother: Howland S. (Chuck) Dow, Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Fall River; her granddaughter: Elizabeth Shippee and her husband Billy Armstrong of Little Compton; her great grandson: Liam Armstrong; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Clarissa (Dow) West.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, January 30, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:30 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be Friday, from 10-11:30 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment to follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton.
