Claire E. (Turgeon) Roda

CHICOPEE – Claire E. (Turgeon) Roda, 91, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on December 31, 1934, a beloved daughter of the late Hormidas and Cecile (Chevrette) Turgeon. She was raised in South Hadley, graduated from South Hadley High School, and moved to Chicopee in 1953 where she lived for most of her life. She was employed in the Meat Department at the former A & P Supermarket and Food Mart, both in Chicopee and retired in 1999. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Prayer Shawl Group. Claire adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her two beloved grandsons, Todd M. Dube who was Called Home on July 5, 2012 and Eric P. Dube who was Called Home on November 3, 2017; and her dear sister, Eileen Malek and her husband, Stanley. She leaves her two loving and devoted children, Michael A. Roda and his partner, Cheryl, of Monson, and Lisa M. Dube and her partner, Marc, of Chicopee; her six cherished grandchildren, Ryan and his partner, Emma, Amy and her husband, Dale, Marcie and her husband, Jonathan, Sean and his wife, Amanda, Seth, and Desiree; her six cherished great grandchildren whom she adored, Corey, Hailee, Marcus, Liam, Adryan, and Eleanora; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham for their compassion, care, and dignity that they provided to Claire and her family. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 27 2026 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to her Mass. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in Claire’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
