
WEBSTER- Janet M. (Sitko) Lavigne, 84, died Tuesday, December 30, 2025 in UMass/Memorial University Campus after being stricken ill at home.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Richard P. Lavigne; 2 sons, Todd C. Lavigne and his wife Tracie Barnes of Dudley and Chris D. Lavigne of Boynton Beach, FL; 2 grandsons, Tyler and Jared Lavigne; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Sitko.
She was born on June 23, 1941 in Southbridge, a daughter of John C. and Madeline E. (Casavant) Sitko and raised in West Dudley. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1959 and then earned an associates degree from New England School of Accounting where she was the class valedictorian.
She first worked as a tape librarian at Paul Revere Insurance in Worcester and then was a buyer at The Record Shop on Hamilton Street in Southbridge and also assisted her husband at the Vac Clinic there before retiring in 2010.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street.
