Maria F. Machado, 83, of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Joao V. and Ana (Costa) Machado.
Ms. Machado was born in Terceira, Azores and had been a longtime resident of Dartmouth. She was a gracious homemaker whose door was always open. She had a love for animals and was known to have rescued many in her lifetime. She was known as the family caretaker who would not think twice about putting her family's needs above her own. Her greatest joy was spending time with family.
Survivors include her daughter: Christina Lamontagne and her wife Tiffany of Dartmouth; her 4 grandchildren: Tyler Gracia, Kristopher Gracia, Jonathan Gracia and Nathan Gracia; her life partner: Joseph Francis; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Edward Machado.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
