Obituary

Sau Van Chau, 73, of Worcester died Monday, January 12th in the Hermitage Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 42 years, Bich Diep; his children and their spouses, Phong and Laura Dinh of West Simsbury, CT, Suong Dinh and Mike Chen of Auburn, Xuan Chau and Mesa Som of Princeton, Julie Chau and Chhann Chhan of Worcester; and seven grandchildren.

Sau was born in Hoa Binh Bac Lien, South Vietnam, and immigrated to the United States in 1986 in search of opportunity and a better life for himself and his family. Through hard work and dedication, he built a meaningful life rooted in perseverance and love.
For many years, Sau worked as an assembly technician, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of work, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time gardening, visiting “Oh Yeah,” and socializing with friends, always appreciating good company and conversation.
Sau had a deep appreciation for a good meal and believed that food was best enjoyed when shared. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family, holding those moments close to his heart. He also loved to travel, especially enjoying a good road trip, where the journey itself was just as meaningful as the destination.
Sau will be remembered for his quiet strength, warm presence, and the love he had for his family and friends. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and the moments shared together.
Calling hours are Friday, January 16th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. His funeral service is Saturday, January 17th beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by cremation at 9:00 a.m. in Rural Crematory, 180 Grove Street, Worcester.
