
John David McClure, aged 58, passed away peacefully, on January 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 16, 1967, in Nuremberg, Germany, to the late Norman L. McClure and Margaret A. Deitz (McClure). John served in the U.S. Army and later worked for Holyoke News Paper for almost 40 years. He is survived by his brother Steven L. McClure, of Chicopee, and two stepsiblings, William Deitz and Beth Lucio, both of Arkansas. He is also survived by his favorite aunt, Jeanne C. Robitaille, of Chicopee, who he enjoyed buying donuts for on her weekly visits. John’s infectious smile and witty sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, and uncles. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Baystate Hospital Cardiac Care Unit for their compassionate care. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
