Michael J. Socobasin, 49, of Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on January 10, 2026.
Mike was born on August 6, 1976, in Calais, Maine, to Debra Rand and Michael Socobasin. Mike was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, husband, and friend. Mike was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Being Native American, from the Passamaquoddy tribe, was also a huge part of his identity that he was extremely proud of, and displayed that pride in his intense passion for art. Whether Mike was painting on canvas, tattooing, or using spray paint, everything he created was beautiful.
Mike’s son, Jacoby, meant the world to him and he loved nothing more than the time they spent together. Their trips to Chuck E. Cheese, Altitude, and the park, as well as building forts, riding bikes, and jamming to AC/DC was the highlight of his life. You could always hear him speaking about how smart and cool Coby is and how proud he was to be his father.
In addition to the love for his son, Mike also loved music. Within the past few years, he started playing guitar again and the music was his therapy. He also enjoyed going to the concerts of his favorite bands.
Mike could never sit still. He always had to be moving whether he was taking a drive, exploring abandoned places, painting, watching the sunset, or simply going out to breakfast. It was this quality that made him so exciting and adventurous.
The love Mike had for his son, family, and friends was unparalleled and felt so deeply. He touched the lives of everyone he met. He will always be remembered as a kind, funny, and caring person as those qualities radiated throughout his life.
Mike is predeceased by his late sister Heather Socobasin and Mother Debra Rand. He leaves behind his son, Jacoby Socobasin and his mother Lindsay Curran of Billerica, Massachusetts, his wife Courtney Vincett Socobasin and his step son Giacobbe Vincett of Bedford, Massachusetts, his father Michael Socobasin, of Chelsea, Massachusetts, his brother Joseph Socobasin, his wife Katie Socobasin, and their three children of Manchester, New Hampshire, his sister Jennifer McCarthy and her son of Winthrop, Massachusetts, Cheyenne Socobasin and her two children of Chelsea, Massachusetts.
