Kenneth Douglas “Doug” Saxton, 76, of Tifton passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Harborview Rehabilitation Center in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Saxton will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Joel Gandy, Justin Saxton, Marcus Czapla, Troy Owens, Alex Saxon, and Dominique Butler will serve as pallbearers.
Born March 4, 1949, in Hickory, North Carolina, Mr. Saxton was the son of the late Kenneth Saxton and Hattie Faye Matthews Saxton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara “Sally” Joyce Conley Mullis Saxton; one stepson, Randall Mullis; two brothers, Billy Saxton and Ronald Saxton; and two sisters, Alice Brantley and Diane Saxton. He retired from Conger Gas Company; and he was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Saxton is survived by two daughters, Marcy Carver of Ashburn and Cathy Saxton of Ty Ty; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mike Mullis and Raymond and Sharon Mullis, all of Tifton; a daughter-in-law, Ann Mullis of Tifton; one sister, Elaine Vaughn of Moultrie; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
