Virginia L. (McCombs) Waltermire, 82, of Clymer, PA passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA.
The daughter of Aurel Raymond and Virginia Elberta (Erwin) McCombs, she was born on July 29, 1943 in Indiana, PA.
Virginia was a member of the second graduating class from Penns Manor High School in 1962.
On August 31, 1963, Virginia wed Clair “Jack” E. Waltermire. They had shared over fifty-seven years of marriage when Jack died on December 7, 2020.
Prior to her retirement, Virginia had been employed as a custodian at her alma mater, the Penn Manor School district, for twenty years.
Virginia found great enjoyment over the years watching the wildlife that visited her yard.
Surviving are her loving family: her daughter, Sonia Boring and husband, Jamey of Clymer, PA; granddaughter, Jessica Fiechuk; three grandchildren: Brionna Lydic; Blake Simpson and Alessa Simpson and her brother, Robert A. McCombs, Sr. of Clymer, PA.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; sister Elberta “Ellie” Waltermire and her infant brother, Raymond H. McCombs.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Pastor Bob White will officiate. Interment will be at the Laurel Swamp Cemetery, Heilwood, PA.
