Obituary

Viola A. (Lusignan) Mulhern, 86, of Worcester died Thursday, January 8th in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband of 53 years, James R. Mulhern died in 2012. She leaves two sons, James E. Mulhearn and his wife, Kristen of Brookfield, and Keith J. Mulhern and his significant other, Cindy Johnson of Worcester; two daughters, Linda V. LeBlanc and her significant other, James Gardner of East Brookfield, and Patricia J. Shevory and her husband, Mark of Scarborough, ME; A brother, John Lusignan and his wife, Sandra of CA; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and two nieces, Cindy and Debbie.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Edward and Viola E. (Girard) Lusignan. Viola was a devoted and hardworking woman who spent more than 30 years employed at Spag’s, where she worked as an inventory clerk. Her dedication and reliability were well known, and she took great pride in her work.
A woman of faith, Viola was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, where her faith was an important part of her life.
Above all else, Viola was a family person. She cherished time spent with her loved ones and found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family. She especially loved her trips to the beach, with Old Orchard Beach holding a special place in her heart. For many years, she enjoyed summers there, where her trailer became a gathering place filled with relaxation, laughter, and treasured memories.
Viola also had a true love for her home. She took great pleasure in decorating, especially during the Christmas season, when her house reflected her festive spirit and love for the holidays. Her warmth and care were evident in everything she did, from her work to the way she made her house a welcoming home.
Viola will be lovingly remembered for her strong work ethic, her devotion to family and faith, and the simple joys she embraced throughout her life.
Her visitation is Tuesday, January 13th in OUR LADY OF THE ANGELS CHURCH, 1222 Main Street from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. followed by her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital Boston, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
