Obituary

Jo-Ann L. (Trombly) Hiitt, 77, of Worcester died Wednesday, January 7th in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband of 45 years, Ronald E. Hiitt died in 2015. She leaves two daughters, Lynda A. Hiitt of Apopka, FL and Jennifer L. Hiitt of Worcester; three brothers, Gerard Trombly of Worcester, Glenn Trombly and his wife, Charline of Rutland, and James Trombly and his wife, Donna of Worcester; two sisters, Betty Ann LeBlanc of Oxford and Patricia Bicknell and her husband, Robert of Worcester; brother-in-law, Robert Hiitt of Worcester; four grandchildren, Tyler Lippe and his wife, Devon, Sara Lippe and her fiancé William Presswood, Jack Lippe and Crystal Lippe; a great granddaughter, Shyla Lippe all of Orland, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Gary Trombly.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Garnett and Elizabeth (McCue) Trombly. Jo-Ann, lovingly known to almost everyone as Mona, was a devoted and hardworking woman who found great pride and joy in her career. She worked for The Paper Store in Shrewsbury for over 20 years, where she proudly ran the Hallmark department. Her coworkers were truly like a second family to her, and she genuinely loved being at work, forming lasting friendships and brightening the days of those around her.
Family was at the heart of Mona’s life. She shared an especially close bond with her sisters, who were not only family but her very best friends. Their relationship was filled with love, laughter, and an unbreakable connection.
Mona enjoyed traveling to Florida, where she cherished time spent with her family and created many happy memories. At home, she found comfort and enjoyment watching her favorite cooking shows, always appreciating good food and the simple pleasures of a cozy day.
Jo-Ann will be remembered for her dedication, her warmth, and the love she shared with both her family and her work family. She leaves behind fond memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
Her funeral is Monday, January 12th with a service at 11:00 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, January 11th from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
