Margaret "Peggy" Faust (McNamara), 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in Agawam, Massachusetts. Born on March 10, 1937, in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph McNamara and Josephine (Gajowski) McNamara.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Faust, with whom she shared many devoted years. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary Louise McNamara and her brother James McNamara.
Peggy’s warmth and sense of tradition endures through her four daughters: Lu-ann Mulvaney and her husband Dan; Jo-ann Matt; Deborah Faust; and Mary Maron and her husband Ed. She was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Kevin Mulvaney and his husband John Witherspoon; Brian Mulvaney and his wife Melissa; Tim Mulvaney and his wife Laurel; Josh Matt and his wife Alexis; Owen Maron; Garrett Maron; Aidan Maron; and Kerri Maron. Her love extended to six great-grandchildren: Claire, Rowan, Lincoln, Hallie, Abel, and Graham.
Peggy’s life was rooted in commitment, both to her family and to helping others. Her tenacity and strong spirit shone through in almost everything she did, from searching for hidden treasures at flea markets, and then having her own booth, attending and competing in dog shows, quilting, and completing word puzzles. For years her kitchen was filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals prepared not only for loved ones, but also for those in need. Above all, Peggy thrived around family and friends. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or sit for a visit.
May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her and continue to inspire strength and acts of kindness in her honor.
