Carol L. Tessier, 89
Dateline: South Yarmouth, MA Carol L. (Troesch) Tessier, age 89, a resident of South Yarmouth since 2001, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Born in Attleboro, MA on November 30, 1936,she was a loving daughter of the late Lewis and Alice (Avery) Troesch. Carol grew up in her hometown of Mansfield and was a 1954 graduate of Mansfield High School. She continued her education, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bridgewater State Teacher’s College. She later returned to her studies and received her Master’s Degree in Education from Georgia State University. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Tessier taught for the DeKalb County School System in Atlanta, Georgia. Carol was actively involved as a member of the West Yarmouth Congregational Church. Her favorite times, were those spent surrounded by her loving family and received much enjoyment while baking, reading and crafting. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Pamela R. Miller of South Yarmouth, Martha A. Pizzigoni and her husband John of Green Brook, New Jersey and the late Melissa A. Cheyne. She was the cherished grandmother of John, Raymond, Nicolette, Christopher and Joseph Pizzigoni, Matthew and Ryan Miller, the late Louis Pizzigoni and was the great grandmother of Lillian and Eleanor. She was the dear sister of the late Arlene Fulp and her husband Billy and the late Althea Sankey and her husband Joseph. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews. She was the former wife of Read Cheyne and the late Lawrence Tessier. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, January 12th from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation on Monday at 12:00 Noon at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Melissa A. Cheyne Scholarship Fund at Furman University, 3300 Poinsett Highway, Greenville, South Carolina, 29613.
