
CHICOPEE – Roland H. Cloutier, 91, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Monday, January 5, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born at home on Thaddeus Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on February 21, 1934, a beloved son of the late Arthur and Marie Rose (Gagnon) Cloutier. He was raised in Chicopee and was a lifelong resident of the city. Roland served his country in the United States Army and received the rank of Private First Class. He previously worked at the New England Container Company and later at Savage Arms in Westfield. He was last employed as a Route Delivery Man for Frito Lay Potato Chips in Springfield. He was a longtime communicant of the former Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee Falls and currently a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. He was a former member of Fairview Council 4044 Knights of Columbus in Chicopee. During his leisure time, Roland enjoyed painting portraits, going to Foxwoods and MGM, watching his beloved Red Sox, and spending time with his family and his many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and soul mate, Theresa (Wietecha) Cloutier who was Called Home on March 3, 2018. They were married on August 18, 1956 at the Basilica of Saint Stanislaus in Chicopee and were blessed with over 61 years of happiness together. Besides his beloved wife, he was also predeceased by his loving siblings, Baby Napoleon Cloutier, Albert A. “Tux” Cloutier and his wife, Louise, Raymond L. Cloutier and his wife, Shirley, Simone G. (Cloutier) St. James, Rita A. (Cloutier) Kustra and her husband, Adolph, Jeanne Chantel (Cloutier) Lafleur and her husband, Roger “Pop”; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Gaydos. He leaves his loving and devoted daughter, Michele M. Partyka and her husband, Peter, of Springfield; his two cherished granddaughters, Corinne R. Bongiovanni and her husband, Vincent, and their two sons whom he adored, Cristiano and Mariano Bongiovanni, and Katelyn “Katie” Partyka and her partner, Corey Boulay, and their three cherished daughters whom he adored, Stella, Willa and Ryla Boulay; his loving sister, Noella Gaydos of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. His funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, January 14, 2026 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. His burial will follow the Mass with US Army Military Honors at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
