STANDISH- Lewis "Sonny" Carroll, age 78, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and dementia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Carroll Sr.; his mother, Millie Thomas; his sister, Cindy Sullivan; and his former wife of many years, Diane Sawyer, who passed away in 2019.
Sonny spent many years among the famous, enjoying an adventurous career in video production and working backstage as a roadie at the Cumberland Civic Center. He had a passion for obtaining the latest and greatest vehicles and was well known for his extensive knowledge of-and enthusiasm for-the barter system.
When at home, Sonny could often be found chatting on the phone with friends and family or watching his favorite television show, Lucky Dog. His natural charisma and easygoing personality made him likable by all.
He was a loving and supportive father to Alexis, Rebecca, and Ashley. He was a proud grandfather to Adelia and Antonio Camden, Nathaniel Wood, Miguel Torres, and Fayley Watson, and a great-grandfather to Hazel, with one great-grandchild on the way.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday Jan. 19th from 2 - 4 PM at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish.
