BAR MILLS- “Peggy” Margaret L. Townsend, age 83, passed away in the comfort of her home on Dec. 31, 2025, due to declining health.
She was born in Dorchester, MA on June 18, 1942, to the late John and Estelle Janis.
She is predeceased by her son- Steven Townsend. Peggy is survived by three children- Andy Townsend of Buxton, Linda Townsend of Parsons, TN, and Tony Townsend of Porter; her beloved grandchildren- Julia Gilboy, Drew Townsend, Brett Sawyer, Zane Townsend, and Elisa-Anne Hood.
She loved spending time with family and friends, even when she was driving everyone crazy, and will always be remembered for her love of animals.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8th from 2 – 4 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or any animal rescue organization.
