
Donald Driesen, 98, of Norwood, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Hellenic Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Claire (Delano) Driesen, they shared 67 years of marriage.
Mr. Driesen was born in New Bedford, son of the late Harry and Rhodesia (Downs) Driesen and had resided in Dartmouth for most of his adult life. He grew up in Fairhaven and was a 1944 graduate of Fairhaven High School. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the U.S. Army. He had worked as a data processor for both Wamsutta Mills in New Bedford and Goodyear Tire & Rubber until retirement in 1987 . He was a former member of Grace Episcopal Church, New Bedford.
He loved traveling and going on cruises with his wife. He looked forward to swimming and meeting with friends at Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness in Dartmouth. Mr. Driesen enjoyed the simple things in life like going to get the mail and having a cup of black coffee.
Survivors include his 2 sons: Douglas W. Driesen of Maine and Brian M. Driesen and his wife Kathy of Norwood; 2 grandchildren: Douglas W. Driesen, Jr., Sarah Gagnon and her husband Matt; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Ernest Driesen.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 10-11 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Westport.
