Isberga F. (Roth) Backer, age 86, of Bellingham, formerly of Milton, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Horst H. Backer, to whom she was wed for sixty-eight years.
Born in Kirrlach, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany on March 8, 1939, she was a loving daughter of the late Hermann and Matilda (Braumiller) Roth.
Isberga grew up in Germany and in 1959, she and her husband moved to the United Sates, first settling in South Boston.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Backer was employed as a bookbinder at Baystate Bindery in South Boston. She had made her home in Bellingham for the past seventeen years and was a former longtime resident of Milton. Mrs. Backer loved spending time amongst her adoring family, the simple pleasure of being at home, gardening and along with her husband, worldwide traveling.
In addition to her husband, she was the devoted mother of Roy Backer of Bellingham, Enrico Backer and his wife Maureen of Randolph and the late Dietmar Backer, who is survived by his wife Barbara Backer of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Tanya, Cheri, Rick and Jonathan and was the dear sister of Inge Holland of South Carolina and the late Gero Roth.
Services and burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
