Audrey P. (Johnson) Chausse

CHICOPEE – Audrey P. (Johnson) Chausse, 79, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, December 12, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Regal Care of Greenfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on November 16, 1946, a beloved daughter of the late Robert E. and Angelina J. (Jalbert) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Portsmouth and later lived in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She moved to Quincy and West Wareham before moving to Feeding Hills in 1980. In 2000, she moved to Chicopee where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was a Data Administrator for Ideal Financial Service in West Springfield and retired around 2012. She enjoyed meeting up with her friends at the Chicopee Senior Center and was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she enjoyed volunteering for many parish events. Most of all, she loved her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger E. Chausse who was Called Home on March 5, 2025. They were married on December 17, 1967 at Saint Patrick Church in Lawrence, MA and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving children, Michael P. Chausse and his wife, Lisa, of Guys Mills, PA, Jeffrey S. Chausse and his wife, Ester, of Charleston, SC and Christine A. Whitehead and her husband, William, of Chicopee; her eight cherished grandchildren, James “Jesse” Sands III, Madalyn Gillingham and her husband, Michael, Hope Chausse, Joshua Chausse, Gavin Chausse, Victoria Sheehan, Nathaniel Whitehead and Mason Whitehead; her two cherished great-grandchildren, James Sands IV and Wrenley Gillingham; her dear brother, Charles Johnson and his wife, Lise, of Laconia, NH; her dear brother-in-law, Leo Chausse of Florida; her two dear sisters-in-law, Anita Michaud of Pelham, NH, and Claire Brucato and her husband, George, of Dracut; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 beginning at 9 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Hers Committal Service will follow the Mass at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
