Obituary

NORTH WATERBORO- Rebekah J. Beckwith, 91, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 23, 2025, at Southern Maine Medical in Biddeford. Rebekah was born on August 17, 1934, in Portland, Maine to Horace M. Whipple and Lilliam M. (Goodrich) Whipple. Becky graduated from Scarborough High School in 1952. She married the love of her life Gordon 'Bud' Beckwith on December 25, 1953. They are together now celebrating their 72nd Anniversary in Heaven! Bud and Becky owned and operated two service stations at separate times. Many good memories were made during this time. They both loved helping people. After the stations, Becky went to work at Snow's Canning Co. In Scarborough. She also worked at various other jobs and retired from Barber Foods. She was always willing to do anything and was a very hard-working woman!

Becky was a member of the Scarborough Historical Society and enjoyed many hobbies: she loved knitting and crocheting, making many pairs of mittens and sweaters for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She made everyone a crochet blanket this summer for Christmas, a treasure! She loved doing puzzles and could do the New York Times Crossword puzzles in ink! Becky loved to bake, especially lots of treats at Christmas! She also baked many years for the summer fairs at the Historical Society, filling her car with baked goods twice each time!

Becky cared for her four grandsons—Andrew, Zach, Alex, and Terrence—for several summers, in her eighties! She was tough! It was the best time for her, and the boys will have those amazing memories. She was an amazing mother and grandmother, and avid republican! She loved Donald Trump and was so happy he was elected. We were so lucky to have had her with us for as long as we did.

Becky is predeceased by her loving husband Gordon 'Bud' Beckwith; her parents; her sisters Rachael, Ruth, and Ellen; her daughter Rhoda Presby; and her grandsons, Spencer Smith and Andrew Morse.

She is survived by her son, Michael Beckwith and his wife Ann; her daughter, Audrey Morse and her husband Merle; her granddaughter Angela Smith, whom she viewed as a daughter, and her husband Jay; as well as eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

The burial will be private amongst family at Dunstan Cemetery in Scarborough where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Gordon, and her mother and father.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to local animal shelters and the DAV.
