Gioacchino "Jack" Pepe
12/12/2025

Gioacchino “Jack” Pepe, 84, of Medford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 30, 1941, in Morroni, Bonito (AV) Italy, he was the beloved son of the late Lucido Pepe and Alessandra (Grieco) Pepe.

Gioacchino lived his life guided by an unwavering work ethic and loyal commitment to those he loved, and a deep devotion to his family. He embodied the true characteristics of a self-made man. He immigrated from Italy in 1972 and quickly built P&D Construction from the ground up, pouring his determination and exceptional craftsmanship into every project. A master mason, he became a familiar and respected figure in Medford, creating a meaningful and enduring legacy in the community he loved. The principles that guided him in his work also guided him as a husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. His devotion to his family and the values he instilled will remain one of his greatest legacies.

His presence didn’t just fill a room — it anchored it. His love didn’t just fill a home — it held it together. His life was a testament to strength, unwavering devotion, and the kind of simple joys that leave a lasting imprint on every soul they touch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elsa (Grillo) Pepe; their devoted daughters: Maria Grazia & husband Thomas, Alessandra & her husband Jerald, Mafalda & her husband Greg, and Luciana & her husband Mostafa. Gioacchino was a proud grandfather to Jacqueline, Alexa, Victoria, Mary, and cherished great-grandson Nico, who brought him tremendous pride and joy.

He is also survived by his sister Nicolina Grieco & her husband Michele; brother Antonio Pepe & his wife Palmira, and is reunited in eternal rest with his brothers Ciriaco Pepe (Gino), Elio Pepe, Alessandro Pepe, & his sister Antoinetta Pepe (Elena), and his parents. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Gioacchino’s family on Wednesday, December 17th, from 4 to 6 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, and again on Thursday, December 18th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Clement Church, 60 Warner St, Medford, at 10 AM.
