Charles T. Murphy “Tim” passed away peacefully at home in the company of his loved ones on Wednesday morning, December 10th. He was 85. He was the son of the late Charles and Edna Dorothy (Hutchings) Murphy.
Tim enjoyed a long career in the electronics industry. A life-long and passionate hunter, Tim cherished time with his uncles and friends on annual hunting trips to Maine. A great bowler, Tim belonged to a local bowling league for decades and always enjoyed time with his buddies. He was a great competitor in horseshoes and corn-hole, and looked forward to occasional visits to Encore and Foxwoods. A great patriot, Tim was proud of his decade of service in the Army National Guard. In the Guard, he competed nationally in pistol marksmanship, earning recognition for his unit and the Commonwealth. Tim was also honored with an appointment as a Special Deputy Sheriff for Middlesex County. Most of all, he looked forward to time with his family and deeply enjoyed their trip to California and his last hunting trip in 2024.
The beloved husband of the late Virginia (Amato) Murphy, Tim was the beloved partner of Patricia “Patty” Mihelich. Tim was devoted to his step-children and was a proud papa to his step grand-children: Virginia Levesque and Cassandra Pappalardo; Chrissy, Mike, Peter, Michael and Maeve Shaughnessy; Becky, Lee, Reid and Weston Pippen; Jeremiah Mihelich; and Brad, Kazu, Moka and Koa Mihelich. Tim was a dear brother to the late Edward Murphy, Patricia Howley and Charlotte Peters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, December 17 from 10-12 PM with a service in the funeral home at Noon. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
