Obituary

DUDLEY - Theresa (Simonelli) Guenther, 93, of Dudley died on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Harrington Hospital in Webster, with her family by her side. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Guenther, Sr. (2013) and by her 3 children; Charles Guenther, Jr. (1955), Marilyn Reich (1997), and Paul Guenther (1999). She was also predeceased by her brothers Ben and Albert Simonelli and her sister Mary Simonelli.

Theresa was born on September 6, 1932 in Worcester, a daughter of the late Gaetano and Lucia Simonelli. She graduated in the Class of 1950 at Commerce High School in Worcester. Theresa, along with her husband Charles, owned and operated the Main Lunch Diner in Webster for many years. After selling the diner, she worked as a cook and housekeeper at St. Anthony’s rectory in Dudley.

Theresa leaves her loving extended family: 2 daughters, Susan Glann and her husband Alan, and Carol Ann Guenther; daughter-in-law Kathleen Guenther; son-in-law Richard Reich; sister-in-law Patricia Przybylek; many nieces and nephews, most notably her special nephew Guy. She also leaves behind a cherished neighbor, whom she considered a daughter, Mary Daniels. She was the grandmother of nine, Allison (Reich) Beaudreault, Erin (Glann) Gross, Kristen (Reich) Wienen, Lauren (Guenther) Hourihan, Brianna (Guenther) O’Rourke, Gregory Glann, Gabrielle “Gigi” Guenther, Russell Glann, and Ariana Guenther. She also had 8 great-grandchildren, Ava and Ethan Beaudreault, Violet and Iris Wienen, Patrick and Keira O’Rourke, and John and Bennett Hourihan. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was a constant presence at the various activities of her grandchildren throughout the years. Summers, holidays, and visits at “Nonnie’s” and “Grampy’s” will be a treasured memory for those who loved her so deeply.

She was a faithful communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley.

Her funeral Mass will be held at noon on Monday, December 15, 2025 in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley (please meet at church). Burial will follow in Saint Anthony Cemetery in Webster. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
