Obituary

Charlene Ann Hagar, age 78, passed away on December 5th in the loving hands of her husband, Richard, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She sadly leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Richard J. Hagar of Worcester; her sisters Margaret A. Struckus of Maple Shade, NJ and Anna R. Coryell and her husband, Gerry R. of Denham Springs, LA. As Charlene passes to God, she will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews along with her great and great-great nieces and nephews, whom she adored. She will also be sadly missed by her many dear friends, especially DJ, Carol, Jim, Lois, Mark, Dee, Lee and Mary.
Charlene was born in Worcester the daughter of the late Charles H. and Ruth N. (Lukasevicz) Peterson. Charlene’s career began at Worcester County National Bank when she was 18 years old. As she proceeded throughout her career, she traveled to Boston and Hartford through multiple bank mergers, as Investment Officer, a position she held for many years until her retirement. She was the second woman in the United States to hold her type of Securities position. She loved her job and excelled as a high-volume Securities Trader until she retired.
Charlene and Richard loved traveling together to Bermuda, Canada, England and around the United States during their 39 wonderful years of marriage. She loved her sisters and spoke with them multiple times every day all these years. Charlene had great love for her cats and her dogs.
Her funeral is Thursday, December 18th in St. John’s Church, 44 Temple Street with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. At Charlene’s request there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden
