Dorothy Mae (Brown) Newell, 78, of Norton, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
Dorothy Mae Newell was born in Menden, MA, on July 15, 1947, to her late parents Sheldon and Anna Brown.
Dorothy grew up in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1965. She attended nursing school for a short time, and later worked a number of years for Craig Manufacturing in Avon. She later finished her working years as an administrator assistant and notary public for Asiaf and Associates Constable Services.
Dorothy was a well-loved woman who had a heart of gold. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. She enjoyed travelling and going out for lunch with family and friends. She loved going to casinos and cooking for her family on Sunday’s and holidays. She had a love for music, and enjoyed playing cards and doing crafts at home. Dorothy had a beautiful smile that lit up the room. She was a selfless woman who always put others before herself.
Dorothy Newell was married to James F. Newell for 30 years. She divorced and spent the last 27 years with her loving partner, Anthony Manzo of Norton. She is survived by her loving children: Jim and Tracey Newell, Paul and Kristen Newell, Lisa and Tony Silva, and Scott and Kristie Newell. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Kearney of East Bridgewater and her brother, Robert Brown of Naples, FL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. She brought sunshine, warmth and such joy to all who knew her. A true blessing and angel for everyone!
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th from 4-7pm at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton. Her funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 17th at 10am at the Conley Funeral Home.
