
Gerald L. Cahee, 84, of Manville, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at his home after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Susan E. (Abell) Cahee, and they recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
Born in Kingsford, MI, he was the son of the late Josie (Clement) and Edward Cahee. After graduating from Kingsford High School, he attended the Layton School of Art and then entered the United States Navy, serving our country honorably. He subsequently attended Johnson and Wales College.
Mr. Cahee was employed at Paramount Cards in Pawtucket for over 25 years. He also worked for Warner Press in Anderson, Indiana and Dicksons Gifts in Seymour, Indiana. He resided in Manville for the past 22 years, previously also residing in Lincoln, Rhode Island and Indiana.
He was an active communicant of St. Ambrose Church and St. James Church. Jerry, as he was affectionately known, loved taking cruises with his family, painting, and visiting friends in Florida, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was most proud of the title "Beba", a name made up by his great-grandson Luke. He was creative and artistic, and loved annual Christmas decorating , both at home and at the Landmark Cancer Center. He did this each year with his family and felt that it brought joy to all the patients. Jerry was an eagle scout and was involved in scouting as a leader for many years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Steven Cahee and his husband Randy Veeser of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin and Lisa Cahee Stevens and her husband Shayne of Manville; his grandson, Mitchell Stevens and his wife Hana of Manville; his great-grandson, Luke Stevens and his great-grandaughter, due in February; his two siblings, Shira Painter of Alpha, Michigan and Dan Cahee of Green Bay, Wisconsin; sisters- and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and his good friend Gordon Barcalow. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as siblings Marilyn Clement, James Cahee, and Paul Cahee.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jerry's Life Celebration to be held with visitation on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM and continuing on December 13, 2025 at 9 AM at the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Avenue, Woonsocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM at St. Ambrose Church, School Street, Albion. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Manville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Landmark Cancer Center Survivor Day, 196 Cass Avenue, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
