
Suzanne M. Desmarais, 80, of Woonsocket died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday November 29, 2025 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. She was the loving wife of the late Marcel J. Desmarais.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Lucien and Helen (Bessette) Marcoux. Over the years she lived in Cumberland, Lincoln and in Florida for several years before returning to the Woonsocket area.
Suzanne received her Bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College.
Suzanne was the founder and owner of Personal Home Health Services, a home health care business she established to provide people with the ability to receive care and stay in the comfort of their own home.
Suzanne was a member of the Woonsocket Rotary Club. She liked to spend her time on the water while boating or closer to home reading a good book. Her family was the center of her life. She loved nothing more than spending time with them especially cooking for them or creating memories while taking pictures. She also had a special place in her heart for the pet dog.
Suzanne will be remembered for the love, kindness and generosity she showed to others.
She is survived by her children Danny Desmarais and his wife Angel of Burrillville, Janice Boutsady and her husband Deep and Linda Houle all of Woonsocket and Renee Masse and her husband John of North Smithfield. She was the mother of the late Donna Renault. She was the sister of Robert Marcoux and the late Lucien Marcoux. Suzanne is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter (with 2 more on the way!) and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Suzanne are private.
Suzanne and Marcel will be laid to rest at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.
