Danuta H. Purwin, 90, of Londonderry, NH died Friday November 28, 2025 at All American Assisted Living in Londonderry. Mrs. Purwin was born in Nadarzyn, Poland on September 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Wiktor and Anna (Von Ertner) Rychwinski. She had been a resident of Londonderry since 1980.
Danuta’s early years were shaped by the hardships of growing up in German and then Russian occupied Poland, experiences that strengthened her resilience, faith, and deep appreciation for family. In the 1960s, seeking new opportunities and a better life, she immigrated to the United States. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Janusz, beginning a loving partnership that would last 38 years.
She devoted herself to caring for her family, ensuring that every day included a warm, home-cooked meal. The house ran smoothly with her at the helm. As her children grew older she became actively involved in the Londonderry school library where she worked as one of the librarians for many years. She made many lasting connections with the students and staff.
She enjoyed camping trips with her husband and children, especially their many visits to the White Mountains and a memorable journey across the United States. She was always extremely happy and interested in her children and grandchildren’s lives and their accomplishments. She had a strong faith in the Catholic church that sustained her through her life.
She is survived by two sons; Charles Purwin and his wife Nicole of Hudson, NH, and Oscar Purwin and his wife Stephanie Koch of Carlisle, MA, three grandchildren, and one brother; Marek Rychwinski of Gdansk, Poland. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Janusz K. Purwin in 2006.
