Mary Margaret (Dalton) Kelly, born on December 30, 1941, passed away on November 27, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Gerard Francis and Elizabeth Anne (Moore) Dalton.
She graduated at the top of her class from Case High School in Swansea, MA where she was a founding member of the band playing the flute.
She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Framingham State College.
In August 1963, she married John B. Kelly and moved to Westport where she raised 4 children before returning to school. She earned a Master's Degree in Library Sciences from Bridgewater State College and became a school librarian retiring from Potter-Burns Elementary School in Pawtucket. She also served as a reference librarian nights and weekends at Bristol Community College, Bridgewater State College and Southeastern Massachusetts University as well as evening children's librarian at the Fall River Public Library.
She is survived by her son: John; her daughter: Kathy and her husband Kevin; and her daughter Elizabeth; her grandchildren: Amanda, Alyssa, Rachel, Erynne and Kyle; her great-grandchildren: Theo and Riley; along with her niece and nephews.
She was predeceased by her former husband John; their daughter Margaret "Peggy"; her sister Joanne and her brother-in-law Loring.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, December 4, 2025 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
