
WEBSTER - Urszula (Janowska) Maszkowska, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025 at home with family at her side.
She leaves her husband of 48 years, Ireneusz “Slawek” Maszkowski; a son, Dominik Maszkowski and his wife Jana of Worcester; a daughter, Katarzyna Maszkowska and her fiancé Ewerton Santos of Webster; and her cherished grandchildren, Jakub Maszkowski, and Natalia and Nelle Santos. She also leaves her mother, Julianna (Kaczmarczyk) Janowska, her brother, Maciej Janowski and his wife Barbara, all of Elblag, Poland; her sister, Dorota Chodorowska of London, England; nephews: Mateusz and Remik Chodorowski and niece Justyna Janowska.
Born on January 18, 1956, in Szczecin, Poland, Urszula was the first child of Julianna and the late Sylwester Janowski. She graduated from an economic high school and, soon after her marriage, settled in Gdansk, where she worked as an accountant and lovingly raised her children. In 2003 she immigrated to Worcester, Ma where she fulfilled her dream of working as a childcare provider. She retired in 2020 due to her illness and moved to Webster, Ma in 2021.
Urszula had many passions: she loved cooking, gardening, and music- especially Latin rhythms and hard rock. She was known for her remarkable baking skills, and her cakes were a treasured favorite among family and friends. She faced a courageous battle with cancer with determination and remarkable grace. Her strength, warmth, and resilience inspired many, and she will be deeply missed by all whom knew her.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on December 10, in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Old Worcester Road, followed by a celebration of her life at the Raceway Restaurant, 229 East Thompson Road, Thompson, CT 06277. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street.
